The Department of Veterans Affairs changes its national Veterans Summer Sports Clinic to allow more opportunities for veterans to participate in practice and selected cities across the country.

NVSSC delivers Vets authorization to recreation actions and sports at one-day infirmaries captioning surfing, cycling, and adaptive health in more than 20 areas.

New research shows that depression, anxiety, and social functioning have significantly improved for seniors who have participated in past NVCC programs.  This year, seniors will also virtually benefit from yoga, meditation, nutrition, cooking, and the creative arts.  Each session will be interactive and led by world-class trainers and experts in their field.

According to the director of the clinic, Adaptive sports programs such as the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic delivers an effective rehabilitation solution. It helps to encourage veterans after a new injury or life-changing moment.   VA’s goal is to help veterans overcome their comfort levels and enable them to be more independent and active in sports and fitness – this year, every year, and in the years to come.

More than 200 vets are already reported to join the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic across the nation.

The primary purpose of the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic is to provide access and experimental education by introducing them to the world of adaptive sports and activities for recovery from injury, or recent disability.  The objective is to increase the general physical and mental health of senior people.

The 2021 National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic at Home will enable more than 200 elders to take part in nearly or their proximity with adapted sports restoration.  The one-day clinic, held at more than 20 locations across the country, will introduce seniors to leisure activities and sports, including personal guidance on surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling, and adaptive fitness.

The National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic is a personal Veterans Summer Sports Clinic that has been organized yearly from 2008.  The At Home version will provide virtual educational sessions and one-day private sports clinics for military veterans.  People with a variety of disabilities, including traumatic brain injury, polytrauma, PTSD, spinal cord injury, or organ damage.

The National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic at Home is organized by the Department of VA health in affiliation with various supporters.  VA San Diego Healthcare Systems attends as the regional host each year.
